It's Landscaping Weather!

Landscaping and Garden Projects are in full flow at this time of year. The sun is out, sometimes, and we are all looking forward to some BBQ weather! So before the better weather disappears it's all go on the gardening front!

So to mark the start of our Landscape Projects Season we'd like to show you a recent job we completed for a lovely family in nearby Newton Mearns.

To summarise the work, in the end it became an overhaul of the existing layout. We weren't changing too much in terms of the structure, but we made the existing layout more fun and safe for the kids, whilst enhancing the look of the garden.

There were a few issues which the family wanted to sort. The decking was old with frame rotting beneath, the slabbed area wasn't child friendly, there were areas of the garden which the kids could fall from, the retaining wall required some enhancing, and a new fence was required to provide some privacy.

This first two images show the wall repairs required, and the hard slabbed surface. The raised area beyond also required to be restricted for the youngest of the children, so a new gate would solve this.

The decking area was in need of being renewed with an alternative, sturdier handrail required.

Finally, to extend the lower decking area we would be removing this raised planter.

Firstly the guys got cracking with securing the wall and cladding it with decking boards. This would result in a totally transformed look for the wall and would be perfect for the kids playing football in their new garden! The decking boards were used also on the new fence to bring it all together, and this form of fencing would be able to withstand years of the kids kicking the ball against it!

Then, once the gate was on, the fence was clad, and we could prepare and lay the artificial grass where the slabs were. Instant colour brought into the garden and the kids now had a safe and secure place to play!

The final stage of the project was to tackle the existing decking areas. The existing decking was removed, new supports put in place and finally new decking boards fitted. The new handrail was built with decking boards which made it much more secure whilst tying in with the other areas of the new garden.

Job done!

The final results of the project were very well received by the customer, and we discussed each stage of the project with them to ensure that the finished job was going to work for them. It was a pleasure working in this garden and helping transform the area for the family as a whole.

Our customer kindly posted a review on our Facebook page:

'We can’t thank Steven, Andy and the guys enough for transforming our garden. We got one part completed and we were so happy with the results that within a week we had them back to do another part! Our children now have a safe and secure garden and are loving the new space.'
